27 May 2012 - Angie bought us tickets for a really cool fundraiser/fair sort thing that we went to. There were Star Wars characters, Disney princesses, plus food, crafts, bouncy castles, face painting, clowns etc. When Jesse saw these two characters approaching each other his eyes widened and he exclaimed, "Ooooh, I wonder if they are going to fight?!"
28 May 2012 - This picture was also taken on Sunday on our way home from church. I guess she was tired from our very exciting day.
29 May 2012 - The girls found their swimsuit cover-ups in the closet and decided they should wear them as dresses. Here, they are looking at our Bleeding Heart...one of their favorite flowers in the garden.
30 May 2012 - After a busy morning at Moms and Tots, followed by lunch and play at Ikea, the girls were still not ready to part company with their friend Eva. They were so sad when we got home...so I let them wash the windows which perked them up. Who knew!
31 May 2012 - Rebecca looked cute in her ball cap and curly hair.
1 June 2012 - Hugging before Jesse's bus arrived.
2 June 2012 - Today was Service Saturday with our church. We went to Princes Island Park and cleaned up litter. After we were done we all had a picnic lunch. It was a fun morning.
Other exciting things that happened this week...we got a new (used) stove to replace our ancient one that only had one working burner. So far, I love our $150 Kijiji purchase! It's very fancy compared to the old one. We also finally found a storm door that would fit and was hinged on the right side. I have been looking on Kijiji for over a month now, and I'm happy to have a screen door that closes on its own (because the kids don't remember!)
On Saturday we headed over to Coghlins (after our time at the park) for a birthday celebration for Chantal and Dan. We enjoyed cake and a short visit before we had to head home.
We have had some nice weather finally...the gardens are all planted and things are starting to sprout. I love this time of year. The strawberries are flowering and have tiny berries growing already, the raspberry patch seems to be settling into its new home in the yard (including my new plants from Dan & Chantal's house), and I have a new berry bush this year that I am excited to see what it does. It's a Haskap berry plant, or a Honeyberry. I can't wait for fresh berries this summer! We also have some new veggies planted this year too. I have a spaghetti squash, zucchini that are round, edamame, ornamental popping corn, Tarpan strawberries (which have red flowers) and a Black Pearl peppers (spicy peppers with black foliage). I won't even mention the new flowers that I have ordered, but I am equally excited about them! (Can you tell I like my garden?)
